I'm interested in many things, such as retro games, anime, music, RPGs, drawing, computers, manga, books, and discovering more about this world and the creatures, experiences and things in it. Trying to make a kinder, better world. I'm mostly on Signal and Discord these days, and the websites listed in the sidebar. If you're reading this, consider making a site like this of your own! The internet used to be a much more diverse and interesting place. People would make interesting niche websites about all kinds of things. Trying to spend less time on the corporate walled garden internet and more on the real internet :D

I've used a lot of different kinds of Linux, but I always end up back at Linux Mint Cinnamon on my laptop.

Currently

I bought a few typewriters recently and I've been writing a lot on them. They're both from the 1940s I think. They're both Remington Rand typewriters. They have some mechanical issues, but I am trying to resolve them. Their quirks can be charming too. :) They type at a really nice rhythm, not too fast but also not too slow. I also like that there's a very limited capacity to edit. It makes you have to type confidently and in a really mindful manner. Plus, they're extremely tactile and have a very satisfying sound and feeling to them, and I like getting to know their inner workings. Writing a little every day is a very calming and nice ritual. :)

I got a small CRT and a VCR again recently and I've been grabbing a bunch of tapes. I feel like VHS being a bad format is like a total psyop, I got back into it and I remembered how cozy it was, the image quality is better than I remembered... it's also ridiculously inexpensive, I can get the tapes for like 25 cents each unless they're something super special. I guess I bought into the idea that they'd all be degraded by the passage of time into dust by now, but that's far from the case! There's even a few spots in my neighbourhood that still rent them out.

I picked up a Super Nintendo again. It's not even yellow!

I'm also getting really deep into the Lord of the Rings lore. Don't get me started on it or I won't stop.

I was reading Kaiji recently and I really got hooked on it. Once I got caught up on that, I also started reading Akagi. Another recent favourite was The Drifting Classroom, which was wonderfully creative and disturbing.

Right now I'm reading The Silmarillion for the first time, and I've been reading the Spice and Wolf light novels, some Lovecraft, and Edgar Allan Poe. I've been buying a lot of classics and have several stacks of books to read :)
